A tourist’s must do
Today we went over some of the must sees of a Tokyo tourist. Tokyo station, the emperors palace (no enter), Hibya park, Meiji shrine and Ginza (Ameyoko market and Yurakucho. As I’ve done this before it was not too exciting for me.
After the official part I was picked up by a friend from my university days. After a stint at Ginza Lion – the oldest beer hall in Tokyo still in operation we went to eat some Edo style Sushi. My first time. Quite a bit different to what you get and experience in other countries.
And my first time having real wasabi. Turns out there are differences. This one wasn’t too spicy and even had an almost sweet undertone. I started to eat one of the servings raw. And the ginger… Well the pickle juice went down the wrong way because was it used to the taste.
I was thinking about taking pictures of the different pieces created right in front of us. But unfortunately for you I decided not to.
After a short stint in a sports bar (some hole in the wall on out way to the train station) I went home in the dark even though it was not really late yet. It was nice to see all the small restaurants and bars located under or next to the track and filled with locals.
