Praia do Forte

The next town over from Itacimirim is Praia de Forte. This town lives and breathes tourism. Even if only 30 years ago it took a whole day to get there from Salvador. And you would have prefered to go by horse. Because the roads…
Well today there is not much left of the old fishing village at the foot of the fortified structure commanding one of the biggest properties in the world.
You drive in past one resort after the other. And the main streets are for pedestrians only with the houses converted to shops and restaurants.
It’s not that bad though. You can still find some convenience stores in there and there is a school in the middle of it all. In the side streets still spot normal living space.

What it does sport though is safety. Here we didn’t feel in danger walking around at night.
