Redwood forest and Huka Falls
Pickup time was 9:30 and the next destination was just around the corner. So we got to walk around a little bit more today.
First stop was a redwood forest just outside of Rotorua. They planted it when the loggers realized that the big Kauri trees they where cutting down actually where thousands of years old and tried to find a replacement so they could keep the industry going.
The woods we were going through were quite big but not nearly as big as the old Kauri and not even as big as the redwoods in the US.
The next stop where the Huka Falls. A small gap in the rock the Waikato river races through with great speed. The color is quite nice too.
From here it was only a few minutes to Taupo.
