that’s the English name for the town that used to be called Dhùn Èidinn by the gaelic speaking populace. So when the Church of Scottland funded a new colony the town got a propper gaelic name.
Well the spelling might have suffered. But the architecture did not. So this city’s old buildings are clearly not typical New Zealand.
So this town is now known for the railway station and other buildings with the different architecture, it’s university and Baldwin Street.
For those that are not familiar with this street. – According to the Guiness book of Records this is the world’s steepest street.
Well going up is definitely not the easiest and going down with roller skates as one guy allegedly did seems to be suicide.
