Queenstown
The last few days I did a lot of tramping up and down the hills but you do not necessarily have to climb the mountains to see something in Queenstown.
Even if downtown is not to spread out there are a few nice places to go. And as I did stay near the lake when we first reached Queenstown I deciced to do the same on the last day.
So here you get a few pictures from the lakefront, the first european settler and “downtown”.
And while we are on the subject of downtown there are two places that I learned to love. Being me that means you can get something to eat there. 🙂
One of these places is called Patagonia and they make a heck of a good icecream. Maybe not the cheapest but the price is definitely validated.
The other place was recomended to me by other travellers before I reached Queenstown. It’s calles Fergburger. And what you can get there are – well you guessed it – burgers.
But theses burgers have nothing in common with the burgers you get in the chains. First of all the burgers are massive and have a lot of sauce and decent bread. (And I don’t just mean decent in regards to the toast you get outside of Europe.)
And they have some for vegetarians as well.
Well I’ve been more than once and tried a few. But I learned that sides are not really neccessary.
The worst was the Big Al. One with everything. There are people who eat that in under 2 minutes. I have no idea how. It took me more than an quarter of an hour to finish mine and afterwards I was stuffed.
So if you come to Queenstown do what everyone does for once and get yourself a Fergburger.
